Yamaha has trumped some stiff competition to emerge as the number one brand in Canstar Blue's customer satisfaction survey for 2016, finishing ahead of BMW Motorrad and 2015 winner, Harley-Davidson.
After more than 1000 riders were asked to rate their bikes, Yamaha scored the full five stars for reliability, value for money, handling, mileage and aftersales service.
Along with scoring four stars for comfort, Yamaha achieved a five star total ahead of BMW (four stars), Harley-Davidson (four stars), Honda (four stars), Ducati (three stars), Kawasaki (three stars) and Suzuki (three stars).
"Riding a motorcycle can be an expensive hobby, so it's important consumers are getting quality products that represent great value for money," said the head of Canstar Blue, Megan Doyle.
"These ratings are designed to find out which brands are impressing motorcycle riders most, so that others can make better-informed purchase decisions. These ratings are like asking over 1000 of your riding mates what they think about the motorcycle and accessories they own."
In the other survey categories, customer satisfaction was ranked highest for Shoei (helmets), Alpinestars (gloves and boots), DriRider (jackets) and Pirelli (motorcycle tyres).
