Yamaha has decided to import the top-of-the-range Roadliner 1900 cruiser.The art deco styling of the machine has driven the company's copywriters into a frenzy: "The all new flagship of the Star cruiser line is a rolling work of art, a moving masterpiece and a vision of power, speed, elegance and beauty. By remodelling the classic streamliner look for the 21st century with flared fenders, teardrop fuel tank, sweptback handlebar mounts and spurred swingarm the XVS1900A/AS Roadliner gives new meaning to the word 'style'. And this mega-cruiser sets new standards in high-class design, craftsmanship and quality of finish, with the kind of painstaking attention to detail never seen before in the cruiser class. At its heart is a mighty low-revving, high-torque 1854cc air-cooled, eight-valve V-twin engine and long 'n' low aluminium chassis. The combination is totally traditional and yet ultra-modern. Designed to show and go like no other cruiser before it, the pushrod powerplant is fed via a twin-bore downdraft electronic fuel injection system to ensure optimum engine efficiency and throttle response in the widest possible range of conditions."
