The Yamaha WR250F has been completely overhauled for 2025, with a new chassis, revised suspension, and updated engine features.
Based on the latest YZ250F motocross bike, the new WR250F benefits from a new bilateral beam frame developed with rider feedback for balanced rigidity.
Suspension is once again handled by KYB, but with revised components and settings. The new progressive travel 300mm fork and 306mm travel rear shock are optimised for off-road performance and are also designed to lower the centre of gravity.
The engine has also been given some revisions, with a new airflow management system, a new camchain, and a shorter muffler.
Ergonomically, the seat is now flatter, slimmer, and has a more rounded profile, while the legroom has been increased by 10mm, making for a roomier ride. The shrouds are also 50mm narrower and the fuel tank is slimmer.
Overall, the new WR250F weighs in at 113kg with a full tank of fuel, which is 2kg lighter than the previous model.
Other changes to the bike include an exhaust header protecter, a lightweight thin gauge throttle cable and grip design, aluminium footpeg brackets, smaller PVC handlebar pad, a lightweight lithium-ion battery, a multi-function button, and a WR-specific ECU.
The new WR250F is fitted with Dunlop EN91 FIM tyres, and also features a radiator fan, an 18-inch rear wheel, and Power Tunner app connectivity.
Yamaha is expecting the new 2025 WR250F on dealer floors in October 2024, and it will carry a price tag of $16,799 ride away.
