Yamaha Motor Europe has released details of the new Tenere 700 Rally Edition. The Rally Edition adds a heritage colour scheme and a range of genuine Yamaha accessories fitted as standard.
But don’t expect to see the special edition Tenere on Australian shores – not yet anyway. Yamaha Australia has expressed that it has no current plans to add the Rally Edition to its Tenere lineup.
With an extensive range of genuine accessories available, Yamaha Australia believes Australian riders prefer to customise their own bikes to suit their riding style.

The Tenere 700 Rally Edition has been designed for the European market to celebrate the Tenere’s rally-bred history. The colour scheme reflects the 1983 Sonauto Yamaha Paris-Dakar competition bike ridden by Serge Bacou and Jean-Claude Olivier.
Specifications for the Rally Edition are unchanged from the original Tenere 700 which has been on sale in Australia since 2019.
The UK price for the Tenere 700 Rally Edition is £10,447GBP, which converts to about $18,893 in the Australian currency. The Tenere 700 is priced at $17,149.
The Yamaha Tenere 700 was Australia’s best-selling bike through the first quarter of 2020 with 347 units sold.
