Yamaha's 2008 R6 has been unveiled online, revealing a machine that looks much like the 2007 model, but with a huge list of changes under the skin.
Included in the package are a new frame and swingarm, while the bodywork has been subtly modified for improved aerodynamics.
The engine now runs a 13.1:1 compression ratio (up from 12.8:1), with new domed pistons, titanium valves and an updated version of the variable length intake system found on the R1.
In addition, the slipper clutch has been updated, as have the brakes.
Yamaha claims it is the most advanced production 600 ever made.
