Here's some of what the factory had to say about it: Fly-by-wire technology - or YCCT (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) - is just one of the next generation Moto GP derived concepts that engineers have developed for the new R6. The twistgrip actuates sensors that govern a motor driven fuel injection system that ensures the correct mixture gets burnt at precisely the right time, equating to mind altering performance.
To complement the futuristic fuel management system, Yamaha's boffins based their chassis design on a "straight frame" concept in which steering head, swingarm pivot and rear axle are joined in a straight line. This highly functional yet elegant design increases longitudinal rigidity, mass centralisation and front-wheel weight bias.
Other features include radial mounted brakes, a slipper clutch to limit gearbox torque reaction on downshifts, a GP-style titanium midship muffler for optimal mass centralisation and a built in lap timer to measure how fast you have become.
There are three colour schemes and it's priced at $15,799 plus ORC.
