Is Yamaha working on a go-fast version of its well-received FZ8 naked bike?
This photo was taken by French motorcycle site MotosBlog.fr, but the kicker is that the photo was taken from within the factory - and Yamaha's tour guides agreed to the photo being published.
The new FZ8R will be a sportier, harder-edged version of the FZ8 that will not only rival bikes like the Triumph Street Triple R, but will also give the new bike range a hero model that is almost guaranteed to attract more attention.
Word on the street is that the 2011 Yamaha FZ8R will revealed to the public in the not-to-distant future, because the bike photographed was a finished product, fitted with a Lazer exhaust, and a handful of Öhlins suspension stickers. It's not clear whether the bike will get the Swedish suspension front and rear, or even just a steering damper, but a handful of mild performance modifications are likely.
At this stage there is no word on whether the high performance Yamaha FZ8R will make its way to Australia, and will likely be a Europe-only model in the short-term future.
