Yamaha e-trials bike makes strong debut

Second overall on a countback in the FIM Trail E-Cup

Yamaha’s all-new TY-E electric trials bike has finished an impressive second overall in the two-round FIM Trial-E Cup, which was held over the last two weekends in France and Belgium.

Japan’s Kenichi Kuroyama TY-E, and swapped first and second places over the two rounds with Gas Gas rider Loris Gubian. They both finished equal on points, but Gubian won the title on a countback.

"It was great to start this series with a victory,” said Kuroyama.

“There was a mixture of fast sections and demanding climbs and I was happy with the overall performance of the new electric bike.

“Gaining some competition time on the TY-E we collected some valuable feedback. I am really satisfied with the progress we made.”

Entries for the series also came from France (Electric Motion) and Spain (Mecatecno).
