Yamaha Motor Australia has announced it has applied a further round of price reductions to a number of its Yamaha Genuine Parts.
The distributor says it’s been able to do this with assistance from Yamaha Motor Company Japan, in an effort to lower local retail prices and narrow the gap between the pricing of Yamaha Genuine Parts and that of alternatives produced by overseas competitors, in light of the on-going strength of the Australian dollar.
According to Yamaha, “Analysis has been conducted on the remaining motorcycle and ATV parts prices and calculations made to reduce the gap against overseas competitors and aftermarket retail prices wherever possible…”
The reductions follow an initial round of price rollbacks for selected parts for YZ and WR dirt bikes and YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 sportsbikes made in 2011.
“Yamaha is pleased to be able to offer further support to its customers by passing along the combined benefits of an improved Australian dollar and factory assistance from Yamaha Motor Company Japan, and it sincerely hopes these efforts will assist in securing improved local business for all concerned,” the related Yamaha press release states.
