Yamaha has claimed the title of best-selling motorcycle brand in Australia.
The claim is based on Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) data, however specific new sales figures for make and model are not made public.
Additionally, only FCAI members are included within the overall sales data. Big players like Royal Enfield and CFMOTO are not members and are not included in the data.
Still, Yamaha says it sold 23,526 new bikes in Australian across 2024, making it the best-selling brand within the FCAI ranks.

A total of 94,224 new motorcycles were sold in 2024 according to the FCAI, which means Yamaha had nearly a 25 per cent share of the total market.
Yamaha also claimed the number one position in the road segment, while it was number two in the off-road, scooter, and off-highway vehicle segments.
The Yamaha YZF-R7LA was the number one selling road motorcycle, while Yamaha was also the number one selling motocross brand.
Interestingly, Yamaha also claimed the Tenere 700 was the best-selling adventure touring model, however it is believed the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and CFMOTO 450MT models were very strong sellers in 2024. But, as they are not included in the data, it is unknown if they matched the Tenere.
