Yamaha Motor Australia has announced its official support of the Australasian Off Road Vehicle Association (AORVA), which is a not-for-profit group that works with government agencies to promote land access for recreational riders and drivers.
The body's ultimate aim is to secure the same access for ATVs and SSVs as currently enjoyed by trail bikes and 4WDs in allocated national parks and state forests.
Stephen Cotterell, Yamaha Motor Australia's Managing Director, said the AORVA's cause was eminently worthy.
"It's important that more ride areas be made available for all users of ATV and ORV products and enjoyed in a safe and responsible manner," he said.
"It's also another channel to promote ATV and ORV safety."
The association is supported via a collaboration between BRP (Can-Am), Polaris and Yamaha Motor Australia.
Other AORVA aims include:
• To foster and promote more structured and better managed recreational ATV/ORV use
• To improve land accessibility and communicate existing legal riding/driving locations to members
• To develop and promote ATV/ORV rider safety and training
• To promote recreation that appreciates and respects Australia's unique natural environment
All ATV/SSV riders are encouraged to join the AORVA, which is free if carried out before December 31, 2017. For more information visit www.aorva.com.au.
