Yamaha's range of 'refined dynamism' concept motorcycles has now reached number four, with a insect-winged scooter to be unveiled at the inaugural Vietnam Motorcycle Show in Ho Chi Minh City from April 7-10.
The 04GEN scooter's design is based on the RUN-WAY concept, which "evokes the image of women with an air of dignified elegance and grace in mind and body".
Compared to regular scooters, which hide the frame with exterior parts, 04GEN only covers the frame with semi-transparent exterior parts. Yamaha puts it likes this: "04GEN creates a lively atmosphere with a trapezoidal, long and low overall silhouette. Its innovative design, which consists of the frame that evokes the image of a woman with vibrancy and inner fortitude, and the light exterior designed in the motif of a swan, synthesizes the interior and exterior to achieve a rare beauty."
There you go. Yamaha kickstarted refined dynamism in 2013 with the three-wheeler 01GEN, complete with mean-looking pincers that looked more in tune with a sci-fi movie.
01GEN was followed by 02GEN, an "alluring power-assisted wheelchair", and in 2015 the 03GEN "Leaning Multi Wheel" concept. And there's more to come.
