WSBK Classic Corners: Parabolica, Monza
In the sixth and final instalment of classic World Superbike corners, we take a closer look at Monza's iconic ParabolicaLocated just north of the Italian centre of Milan, Monza is steeped in history -- it's been the backdrop to many an epic struggle in motor racing on both two wheels and four. And launching the victor of those struggles to the chequered flag is the Parabolica, the flowing right-hander that begins at the end of the straight following the Ascari Chicane, before sweeping its way on to the start/finish straight.
Although it starts out as a relatively tight corner, the Parabolica then opens out with an increasing radius. Check out the video below to hear Honda racer Jonathan Rea explain the technical intricasies of the Parabolica. He's joined by Giorgio Barbier from Pirelli, who takes us through the stresses placed on the company's tyres by Monza, and Eurosport commentator Jack Burnicle, who touches on the circuit's proud history.
