WSBK classic corner: Geert Timmer

In the third instalment of classic World Superbike corners, we put the historic Assen circuit's Geert Timmer chicance under the microscope

From a distance it looks innocent enough, but the Geert Timmer chicane at the Netherland's Assen circuit has played stage to many an epic passing manoeuvre over the years.

It's one of just a few spots on the flowing Dutch circuit to offer a decent passing opportunity and it's the track's final corner, and as such it's been the backdrop for many last-chance heroics -- and more than few crushing defeats.
In the video clip below, produced by the Honda Racing World Superbike Team, team riders Jonathan Rea and Hiroshi Aoyama give us the lowdown on this challengeing stretch of track, and the best way to negotiate it. The Assen circuit's press officer, Peter Schorer, also gives his own perspective on Geert Timmer, as does the manager of the Honda World Superbike Team, Ronald Ten Kate. Have a look for yourself...
