
We all know that motorcycle racing is an individual sport for 99 percent of the time, so that's probably why riders get such a hit out of representing their country when the opportunity arises.
And it even can make normally tetchy people relax and embrace mateship - just look at Lleyton Hewitt in the Davis Cup.
I'm not saying that our motorcycle racers are like that, but I can confirm Motorcycling Australia is now accepting applications from those who would like to represent Australia in the following 2009 teams' events:
" Trial des Nations (TdN) - Darfo Boario Terme, Italy, September 20
" Motocross of Nations (MoN) - Franciacorta, Italy, October 4
" International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) - Figueira da Foz, Portugal, October 12-17

Applications for the ISDE close at Monday, March 30, while applications for the MoN and TdN close at on May 25.
