Yamaha's XT1200Z Super Ténéré Worldcrosser big-bore adventure bike first appeared as a concept machine at the Intermot motorcycle expo at Cologne, Germany, in 2010, but Yamaha unveiled the production version of the machine at a press launch last month in Spain.
The model is essentially a standard Super Ténéré fitted with a Worldcrosser kit, the latter comprising carbonfibre sidepanels with aluminium mesh, carbonfibre frame protectors, carbonfibre fork protectors, a black anodized aluminium shaft drive shield, an aluminium bash plate and a black anodized aluminium rear brake protector.
A range of other factory upgrades and accessories are available for the model beyond the Worldcrosser kit, including an Akrapovic exhaust system, a fog lamp kit, engine guards, an aluminium topbox and aluminium panniers, among others.
Yamaha Motor Australia is currently looking at whether or not it will be bringing the Worldcrosser kit Downunder so pricing and availability are yet to be confirmed -- watch this space.
The standard Super Ténéré retails for $19,990. See your nearest Yamaha dealer for more information.
