World's first synchro double back flip

Aussie Cam Sinclair and Travis Pastrana have performed the world's first synchronised double back flip to a huge crowd in Las Vegas

For the first time in history, two freestyle motocross riders have synchronised not just back flips, but double back flips, performing what is a tandem double back flip, or a "dack flip" as one Bikesales Network staffer coined it.

Australian FMX dynamo Cam Sinclair joined forces with Travis Pastrana, a 17-time X Games medallist, at the MGM Grand Arena to perform the world's first two-rider synchronised double back flip, which took a lot of planning to orchestrate.

The stunt was part of the Nitro Circus Live, which has begun its North American tour, and marked a special occasion for both FMX riders.
"I have always dreamed of doing this trick side-by-side with Travis and tonight that dream true,” said Sinclair.

Australian rider Cam Sinclair has completed a stunning comeback from injury that many medical professionals believed would end his career.

After his horrific 2009 fall in Madrid, Sinclair recovered and went on to win X Games FMX biggest trick in 2010, landing a perfect double back flip 12 months after attempting the same tick almost cost him his life.

And then FMX hero Travis Pastrana created a feel-good atmosphere when he asked his girlfriend, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins to marry him. "I wasn’t supposed to do this until the end of the show, but I was so nervous I couldn’t wait. This is a night of world-first stunts, and this stunt involves the rest of my life," said Pastrana.

Understandably, the crowd went absolutely troppo.

On top of the world’s first two-rider synchronised FMX double black flip, the Nitro Circus Live event also saw James Foster attempt a tripe back flip on a BMX. He almost landed it…

Bob Burnquist, virtually skateboarding royalty, also had a big night landing the world’s first-ever “Christ Air” back flip.

And just to prove that flips can be done on a variety of different wheeled apparatus, inspirational wheelchair athlete Aaron ‘Wheelz’ Fotheringham stunned the crowd when he landed front flip, after banging massive air from "Giganta" ramp.

Parts of the event were filmed in 3D for the upcoming Nitro Circus 3D feature film.
