Winner announced for Royal Enfield build-off

Sydney’s Rough Cut wins inaugural dealer customising comp

Royal Enfield Sydney has taken top honours in the brand’s first-ever inter-dealer customising competition with a modified Classic 350 dubbed Rough Cut.

Eight different machines hailing from both Australia and New Zealand were entered in the inaugural Custom Bike Build Off, where dealers had just 31 days to complete the build.

“The idea was to create interest and demonstrate to the public what a great starting point Royal Enfield motorcycles can be as a base for custom builds,” said Royal Enfield’s Joshua Pilley.

The winner was decided by an online vote where fans of the brands were asked to click to ‘like’ their favourite build before the November 20 cut-off, with the build with the most likes taking the spoils.

“It has been a very exciting day around here filled with congratulatory posts and calls,” the Burwood-based Royal Enfield Sydney dealership posted on its Facebook page following the announcement.

“Building a custom bike on top of the usual work load is a monumental undertaking. Royal Enfield Motorcycles are wonderful bikes for customising and personalising and the entries show the massive spectrum of possibility.”
