Australian motorcycle sport promoter and industry identity Kevin Williams has been appointed as the new General Manager of Super X, filling the gap left in the wake of the recent departure of Mal Peter.
Williams, who has held the post of Race Director for Super X since the series' inception, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having also previously managed the Australian Motocross Championship, now known as the Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals, for the past 14 years. Williams has also been Chief Executive Officer of two Australian Motocross Grands Prix.
The position will see Williams charged with overseeing all operations and sponsorship of Super X, which is the official Australasian Supercross Championship.
Williams has said he's thrilled to be embracing the challenges of the new role. "I'm excited to get the opportunity to extend my involvement with the series to General Manager and I am looking forward to working with the industry and its partners to ensure the longevity and success of the Monster Energy Super X brand and series," he said.
Mike Porra, Managing Director of the company behind Super X, Global Action Sports, said he was delighted with the appointment. "Kevin brings a huge amount of knowledge and experience to his new role, which is going to be invaluable to the series moving forward," he said.
