Suzuki’s Todd Waters scored a narrow overall victory in the MX1 class at round four of the 2016 MX Nationals in Murray Bridge, SA on May 22.
Waters banked 65pts over the two motos, to win the overall from new championship leader Kirk Gibbs (63), Brett Metcalfe (Husqvarna, 58), Dean Ferris (Yamaha, 58) and Kade Mosig (Kawasaki, 57).
“It feels awesome to finally get a round win here at Murray Bridge — we were close at Broadford but we got it done here today so I’m stoked,” said Waters. “With a win in moto one, I just tried to ride a smart race in the second one; I knew that I just needed to get third so I did what I needed to do and finished with the round win.
“All of the boys are riding very well so it’s nice to finally get an overall, and now I’m just looking forward to getting in to some deep sand at Wanneroo next weekend.”
It's a log jammed leaderboard at the top of the standings, with Gibbs on 252pts from Ferris (251), Waters (247), Matt Moss (Kawasaki, 228) and Metcalfe (225).
