Australia now has a second confirmed rider in the 2016 Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP), with Queenslander Aiden Wagner to compete on an MV Agusta S3 675 for the fledgling GRT Racing Team.
Wagner, the 2014 Australasian supersport champion, will ride alongside Anglo-Italian Gino Rea, who was sixth in the 2015 WorldSSP title. Wagner was 21st in an interrupted season.
“I’m really happy to be racing with the GRT Racing Team for the 2016 season," said Wagner. "In addition to now knowing 70 percent of the tracks on the calendar, I think the combination of the team and the MV is going to be a great step forward for me.
"I anticipate a great team environment; all the guys are not only really good at what they do, but they are great to work with. All of this put together should be a strong package for some competitive racing and strong results for the season. I can’t wait to get underway at my home event at Phillip Island."

Australia's second full-time rider in the 2016 WorldSSP title will be teenager Lachlan Epis.
