Voxan concepts rise from the grave

French company may be on its last legs, leaving curious concepts out on a limb

If you haven't heard of Voxan Motorcycles before, it is a French motorcycle maker that looks to be heading down the same bumpy road as Buell and Motor Morini, having gone into liquidation late in 2009.

With a cult following in France and Eastern European countries, Voxan had a number of interesting designs, some of which never saw the light of day.

A number of concept bikes that were designed by a company called Enzyme on behalf of Voxan a couple of years ago have broken cover, displaying an interesting and almost retro-style tourer.

There's also a slick naked bike that appears to use its V-twin engine as a stressed member of the chassis, with the swingarm directly to the engine.

Would things have been different had these bikes gone into production? Probably not, but it makes for interesting viewing nevertheless.

The concept bikes were designed to sit on one of Voxan's tried-and-tested frames, and were to be powered by the French marque's 1000cc V-twin engines.

Though it wouldn't be the first time the company has been bailed out, there have been rumours floating about that Voxan could be saved if its assets were snapped up by a bargain-seeking corporation. But even fans of this unique French company probably shouldn't hold their breath...

If you're after more info (and can read en Francais) the Voxan website is still online.
