Vietnamese Bat Bike

Made from scrap metal and car parts, this inspired piece of engineering mimics the 'Batpod' seen in the new Batman film -- and didn't costs its creators $1.5 million!

As the final instalment of Christopher Nolan's seminal Batman series hit screens, it seems not everyone is interested in the Bat Mobile, or the hovering, rocket launching Bat hovership for that matter.

Some industrious types in Vietnam have built an exceptionally cool looking and fully operational Batpod bike replica, similar to the vehicle that Anne Hathaway (aka Bat Girl) can be seen riding in The Dark Knight Rises feature film.

Only thing is, this particular creation didn't cost the $1.5 million that the Batpod in the movie cost.

The rideable bike looks like a lot of fun and is an impressive feat of backyard engineering to boot. It features a single disc brake up front and what appears to be a clever take on a hub-steered front end.

Fitted with square-edged car tyres, the unique motorcycle looks to be powered by a small capacity engine and most of the suspension seems to be taken care of by the slightly deflated tyres. Thus far, the video has had more than 75,000 views on Youtube.
