Although details are still sketchy, Victory Motorcycles has confirmed its Vision Trike, which recently appeared at the Melbourne Motorcycle Expo, will be heading Downunder. Victory Motorcycles has said the trike will come from the USA in kit form, with the trike then being assembled here in Australia.
Powered by the marque's 106-cubic-inch (1731cc) 'Freedom' V-twin, good for a claimed 92hp (67.7kW) and 148Nm, the Vision Trike places an emphasis on comfort, style and storage capacity, with the rear trunk and saddlebags providing 142 litres of luggage space.
The six-speed overdrive transmission sets the machine up for relaxed highway cruising, while the model comes with a host of creature comforts, including dual-zone heated seats, heated handlebar grips, a power windshield, cruise control and an MP3-compatible AM/FM four-speaker stereo.
Victory Motorcycles is hopeful the model will be available in strictly limited numbers from early 2011, giving Australia its only trike model to bear a major manufacturer's name. Harley-Davidson currently lists two trike models in its US range -- a Tri-Glide Ultra Classic and a Street Glide Trike -- but so far it hasn't brought either to the Australian market.
Specific details of the Vision Trike, including pricing, are yet to be released. The Bikesales Network will bring you more information on this model as it comes to hand. In the meantime, see your nearest Victory dealer for more information.
