Victorian spinal patients will benefit from a sizeable donation of nearly $33,000 made recently by the Ducati Owners Club of Victoria.
The funds were raised through a raffle that marked the end of the club's 40th anniversary celebrations, with the first prize – a new Ducati Monster 1200S – going to Geoff Audsley of Elliminyt, west of Geelong.
Second prize, comprising $2000-worth of motorcycle apparel, went to Allan Mill of Lawson (NSW), while third prize, a $1000 Red Balloon voucher, went to Angela Butler of Torquay (Vic).
The President of the DOCV, Garry Elphinstone, said the club was thrilled with the raffle's result.
"The club took on a significant workload in arranging several events to celebrate its 40th anniversary but we felt it worthwhile to also provide some community benefit to mark this milestone," he said.
"The raffle was to support the great work done by the Victorian Spinal Cord Service. The club is proud to have sold all tickets and donated almost $30,000 to this worthwhile cause. This will allow the VSCS to upgrade equipment and facilities and support patients and families during difficult times."
The DOCV would like to extend its gratitude to Fraser Motorcycles and Mornington Ducati for their assistance with the prizes.
