Vespa production hits 100,000

Vespa production hit 100,000 units in 2006, for the first time in 16 years.

The brand is riding on a world-wide resurgence in the world scooter market.

CEO Roberto Colaninno commented: "Vespa production volumes have doubled in three years, an achievement we should all be proud of."

The 100,000th machine rolled off the assembly line in mid-December and was a red GT250.
