Vespa and Disney join forces for Mickey Mouse special

The Vespa Primavera Mickey Mouse Edition is available now in limited numbers

Vespa has teamed up with Disney to create a special limited-edition Mickey Mouse-inspired scooter that coincides with the entertainment company’s 100th anniversary.

Taking the form of a Vespa Primavera 50cc model, the Mickey Mouse Edition features a unique colour scheme and Disney graphics, as well as yellow wheels and black mirror housings.

“A timeless icon like Vespa could not fail to celebrate this very special occasion of Disney’s 100th Anniversary,” said Piaggio executive, Michael Colaninno. “This collaboration represents the celebration of two historic companies that have a common dream: to allow everyone to express their imagination freely.”

Disney executive, Claire Terry, also highlighted the parallels between the two brands. “Just like Mickey Mouse, Vespa is a cultural icon, evoking a sense of fun and adventure,” she said. “We are excited to bring this version of the iconic scooter to our fans in our centenary year.”

Vespa played a starring role in the Disney and Pixar animated film, Luca, in 2021. In the film, the sea-monster boy of the same name dreams of travelling the world on a Vespa, and eventually buys one.

The Vespa Primavera Mickey Mouse Edition checks in at $7590 ride away, and is now at Australian dealerships in “strictly limited” numbers.

Disney is the latest brand to team up with the iconic Italian scooter manufacturer, with previous collaborations including Justin Bieber and Dior.
