The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani has been officially launched in Australia, three months after first going on sale in September 2015.
The scooter was developed jointly by Giorgio Armani and Piaggio to celebrate two of Italy’s most established symbols of style and creativity in what is the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the Giorgio Armani and the 130th birthday of the Piaggio Group.
The special version of the Vespa 946 combines greys with "subtle hints of green visible only under particular light conditions".
The metal parts were produced using a galvanic process and have a satin finish. This creates an opaque effect in line with the finishing touches of the body. The words ‘Emporio Armani’ appear on the side, while the eagle logo of the brand sits above the headlight.
There are also brown leather finishes and electronic riding controls (which are also compatible with the latest internet devices), while the 946 is powered by a four-stroke electronic injection engine. There are 220mm disc brakes, two-channel anti-lock braking and 12-inch wheels.
The Vespa 946 was first released at the 2011 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan.
