International racing ace Chris Vermeulen has been appointed as an official Ambassador by Australia's motorcycle sports body, Motorcycling Australia (MA).
According to MA, Vermeulen, who currently rides for the Kawasaki Racing Team in the Superbike World Championship, was a natural fit for the
promotional role. "Chris has become one of the most recognisable faces in Australian motorcycle sport, with his accomplishments in the World
Superbike and MotoGP arenas, and his renowned professionalism off the bike, making him a bone fide star both here and abroad," states an MA press
release.
The role will see Vermeulen undertake a number of promotional duties and appearances to help develop and grow motorcycle sport here in Australia. He will also write a series of blogs for MA's website, which will give an insight into the life of a top
-tier motorcycle racer.
Vermeulen said he was excited to be teaming up with MA. "From my point of view and with my career in road racing, it's great to be involved
with Motorcycling Australia, helping to promote and develop the sport," he said. "Junior development and participation is definitely an area I
am very passionate about; it's not just helping to see certain kids through from junior racing to world champions, but also about giving everyone a
chance to enjoy the sport," he added.
