Vince Chiodo, who helped build arguably Australia’s most well known chain of motorcycle retail stores, Peter Stevens Motorcycles, passed away on February 21 after succumbing to cancer.
Peter Stevens has developed into a market leader in Victoria and South Australia, with outlets in Melbourne, Ringwood, Dandenong, Ferntree Gully, Geelong, Morphett Vale and Adelaide, selling and servicing all the Japanese marques plus Triumph, Vespa, Harley-Davidson and MV Agusta.
Vince worked tirelessly, particularly alongside his brother, Steve, to build the Peter Stevens empire into the massive enterprise it is today, with organic growth complemented by a number of acquisitions in recent years.
The Chiodo family also owns accessories and tyre distributor Monza Imports, as well as PS Importers, the Australian distributor for Triumph & Hyosung motorcycles and Piaggio/Vespa scooters. The businesses all employ over 500 people.
Vince was an avid trail bike rider, and as recently as sixth months ago was harbouring thoughts of reuniting with his KTM before his health began to deteriorate quite quickly.
He leaves behind a partner, daughter, step sons and daughters, brothers, sisters nieces and nephews. Rest in peace.
