Vale: Baldassare Monti
Popular Italian passes awayNovember 24, 2008
Italian Baldassare Monti, who raced in world Superbike from 1989-1993, has lost his life in a road crash. He was 47.
Monti was a popular factory Honda and Ducati rider in WSBK, teammate to world champions Fred Merkel and Raymond Roche. He finished eighth outright in both 1989 and 1990 before his career came to an end with a serious crash.
Monti was riding his scooter in Italy when a car pulled out in front of him.
