Alan Kempster, a much-loved member of the motorcycling racing community both in Australia and abroad, has passed away at the age of 56.
The Yarrawonga-based Kempster inspired many with his ability to ride let alone race after losing both his right arm and leg in an accident in 1990.
As well as competing locally in events like the Barry Sheene Festival of Speed at Sydney Motorsport Park and support races at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, Kempster took his passion for competition to the Burt Munro Challenge New Zealand and the Di Di Bridgestone Cup it Italy for disabled riders.
Kempster was also a competitive water skier for 10 years, claiming seven Australian and three world disabled titles before returning to his first love, motorcycle racing.
RIP Alan.
