
According to figures released by the Motorcycle Industry Council in America, 440,899 powered-two wheelers were sold in the country last year, a 0.3 per cent increase on 2010.
Sales figures are broken down into four major categories in America, with three of them in the black last year – dual-sport up 14.2 per cent (to 26,868), on-highway up a moderate 1.8 (312,124) and scooter up 11.8 (31,850).
Off-highway was the pariah, down to 13.5 percent to 70,057.
When ATV sales are brought into the equation, the total market in America last year was down 4.9 per cent to 662,931 sales.
