Upgraded Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS coming soon

The updated 2025 Triumph Speed Triple RS is headed for Australian shores, with the brand’s local arm tipping an April 2025 release. 

With next-gen Ohlins suspension, an improved suite of rider aids, a fresh look, and increased performance, the new Speed Triple 1200 RS will check in at $31,490 ride away. That represents an $2500 increase over the outgoing model. 

Power and torque have improved slightly to 180hp (134kW) and 128Nm respectively, with torque peaking slightly earlier than before at 8750rpm.

The bike also features a new exhaust system to help improve flow and centralise mass for improved performance. An Akrapovic silencer is available as an option. 

Suspension is handled by Ohlins SmartEC3 semi-active system which includes a new tuning interface that continuously monitors and adjusts damping. Riders can also customise settings via the TFT display. 

Handling is also boosted by an adjustable steering damper and a wider handlebar. 

Brembo Stylema calipers and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres add to the bike’s high level of specification, while the full suite of electronics is boosted by the addition of front wheel lift (wheelie control) function. 

The new Speed Triple has retained the signature “bug eye” headlight and single-sided swingarm but has received some subtle styling changes in a bid to improve its iconic silhouette. The bike also gets new lightweight wheels and a new seat cowl. 

Also new is a lithium-ion battery which helps keep the bike’s overall wet weight down at 199kg – just a 1kg increase over the outgoing model.
