The MV Agusta head office in Italy has released a statement, announcing that "spare parts, warranties, and service for MV Agusta and Cagiva products are currently available in Australia".
This follows on from the announcement last month that the Queensland-based Paul Feeney Group (PFG) will no longer be the Australian importer for MV Agusta, and follow-up confusion when PFG erroneously nominated the Peter Stevens Motorcycles chain to fill the service and warranty void.
That left Aussie MV owners temporarily in limbo, with the latest release from MV Agusta attempting to inspire some peace of mind.
But is it just a bit of window dressing? The brand new website, www.mvagusta.com.au, is a landing page for an Italian-based English website, and when owners are promoted to the "Customer help" link, it directs them straight to an email address - info@mvagusta.it.
There is no actual mention of an Australian company to assist owners with warranty, service and/or technical questions, nor a process that may be followed when an email is sent to info@mvagusta.it.
The Bikesales Network then prodded for more information, and MV has told us that when an email is sent, "the customer will be contacted directly by our Australian partner".
Also, "major technical issues will be solved directly from our new service in Australia".
MV will announce its new Australian partner in coming weeks.
Since PFG announced it was ending its association with MV Agusta, the company's former owner Claudio Castiglioni has brought it back from previous owner Harley-Davidson.
