CFMOTO has updated its 700CL-X Heritage urban scrambler for 2024, with cosmetic, electronic and hardware improvements resulting in a $500 increase to its ride-away price.
Traction control has been added to the platform for the first time, although there’s no inertial measurement unit and so it’s not lean-angle sensitive. And while ABS was included on the previous version, ABS intervention to the rear wheel can now be disabled, giving more weight to the Heritage’s off-road credentials. The standard-fitment cruise control and two switchable ride modes (Sport and Eco) remain unchanged.
As well as new switchblocks, the 2024 model benefits from new material covering the seat as well as updated engine covers to complement the new badges and Nebula Black colour scheme. And while the headlight still retains the identifiable X-shaped daytime running light and basic shape, CFMOTO says this has also been updated for the new model year.
What hasn’t changed is the 693cc parallel-twin engine, with 51.5kW of power and 60.9Nm of torque propelling the 189kg ready-to-ride machine. Fully adjustable front suspension is provided by KYB and matched to a monoshock that’s adjustable for preload and compression, with 150mm of wheel travel on offer at both ends.
Braking is still looked after by a single four-piston J.Juan front caliper gripping a 320mm disc with a twin-piston caliper and a 260mm disc at the rear. The 700CL-X Heritage rolls on an 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel, wrapped in Pirelli’s MT60 RS rubber.
The 2024 model is available in Australia now for a ride-away price of $10,490 and is backed by a three-year factory warranty. There are so far no announcements in relation to updates on other bikes in the 700CL-X platform, spanning Sport and Adventure variants.
