Updated BMW R nineT range unveiled for 2021
The BMW R nineT range has continued to expand since 2013, and it has now received a a host of updates for 2021The heritage-inspired BMW R nineT range has been updated for 2021, with new standard features, fine-tuned designs and better performance.
Announced alongside the new BMW R 18 Classic, the updated R nineT range includes the R nineT, R nineT Pure, R nineT Scrambler and R nineT Urban G/S.

Headlining the updates is a revised boxer engine which now meets Euro 5 compliance. It has received a slight boost in horsepower, with 110hp at 7750rpm, but the max torque remains 116Nm at 6000rpm. BMW claims the refined engine provides a more full-bodied power and torque curve, with the 4000-6000rpm range benefitting from more pulling power.
ABS Pro and Dynamic Brake Control are now standard, as is a new suspension strut with travel-dependant damping. Other new standard features include Rain and Road modes, a hand wheel for adjusting spring preload on the rear shock, LED headlights a USB and a USB charging socket. The 2021 R nineT range also features a new classic circular instrument cluster with a newly designed dial.
Elsewhere, there is also a range of new colour schemes and options. New options include Riding Modes Pro, dynamic traction control and engine drag torque control. Also available is the exclusive Option 719 range of accessories.
Notably, the R nineT Urban G/S exclusively gets the ‘40 Years of GS’ colour scheme that has already been added to the R and F-series GS models.
