The Yamaha MT-10 has been given an update for 2022, with a slight increase in power, new technology, and fresh styling. The overhaul follows a similar upgrade to the MT-09 earlier this year.
As the Japanese firm’s range-topping naked bike, the MT-10 has been a popular choice for thrill-seeking motorcyclists for a number of years. The R1-derived CP4 engine combines with radical and aggressive styling to deliver a true ‘hyper-naked’ package.

For 2022, the engine has been updated to meet Euro-5 emissions regulations and, while Yamaha did not provide exact power figures, it is believed that there is a slight increase in both power and torque. Also featured is a new custom-made tuned intake sound.
Elsewhere, there are improved ergonomics, a new Brembo radial brake master cylinder, a new variable speed limiter, a quickshifter as standard, and a new 4.2-inch full-colour TFT display. Additionally, there is a new Accelerator Positon Sensor Grip unit (ride-by-wire), a new smaller and lighter six-axis IMU and a new titanium exhaust.
The new MT-10 also has a fresh look, with new compact twin-eye mono-focus headlights, enlarged air intake ducts on either side of the tank, and a more-compact LED taillight.
Complementing the upgrades is the list of equipment featured on the previous iteration, including a full-suite of electronic funtions, a lightweight deltabox chassis, optimized front and rear suspension and Bridgestonr Battlax S22 tyres.
Yamaha Motor Australia is yet to announce arrival dates or pricing for the new MT-10, but according to the European press release, the bike will be available from February 2022, with three colour options (Cyan Storm, Icon Blue, and Tech Black).
