The 2021 Triumph Bonneville range has been revealed, with an array of updates applied to the Triumph Bonneville T120 and T120 Black, the Triumph Bonneville T100, Triumph Street Twin, Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster, Triumph Bonneville Bobber, and the appearance of an exclusive new model, the Triumph Street Twin Gold Line Limited Edition.
The British manufacturer says it will reveal full details of its 2021 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC and Scrambler 1200 XE on April 13, with the reveal of its updated 2021 Triumph Street Scrambler to follow on April 20.
The revisions are just the latest chapter in the on-going evolution of Triumph's retro-themed Modern Classics range, which also saw the new Triumph Thruxton RS arrive in 2020 and the Triumph Speed Twin introduced in 2019.
Under the banner of 'British Icons, Beautifully Evolved', the 2021 Bonneville range update is headlined by a move to Euro 5 emissions compliance – and engine revisions that also bring enhanced, more responsive power delivery – but extends to a wide number of other improvements spanning suspension, brakes, electronics and cosmetics.
Based on the original Triumph Bonneville of 1959, Triumph's Modern Classics range has grown from its introduction in 2001 to be a true powerhouse of the wider Triumph offering.
Since the arrival of the first 'modern-era' Bonneville two decades ago, some 367,000 units have been sold around the world, with the range steadily expanding over the years to include both T100 and T120 platforms (powered by 900cc and 1200cc parallel-twins respectively), and numerous retro formats spanning scramblers, café racers, bobbers, and customs.
This latest update sees Triumph's signature parallel-twin engines move to Euro 5 compliance, but the factory says the changes go well beyond lower emissions.
A focus on lighter engine internals and reduced inertia through a lightened crankshaft and balancer shafts have resulted in increased engine and throttle response, the company says, while service intervals have increased to every 16,000km (previously 10,000km). The latter is due to increased product confidence based on the service life of existing models, says Triumph, while the factory warranty period continues at two years, unlimited kilometres.
Peak power and torque figures have been preserved or raised (up 10hp in the Bonneville T100), while the engine speeds at which those peak figures are produced have changed marginally for some models.
While the frame carries over, overall weight has been reduced in some instances (by 7kg in the Bonneville T120/T120 Black and 4kg in the T100) and certain models feature high-spec Brembo front brakes and new Show forks.
Numerous styling tweaks, new instrument faces and fresh colour schemes round out the changes.

Personalisation of the Triumph Modern Classics range continues as a key theme. Triumph says 86 per cent of owners accessorise or customise the look of their bike, and to that end there are 320 genuine factory accessories available for these models.
The revision will help Triumph maintain the fight in the competitive retro bike space, where it squares off against the likes of BMW's R nineT range, the Ducati Scrambler range, Moto Guzzi's V7 line-up and Harley-Davidson.
"These are British icons, beautifully evolved, and encompassing a wide range of updates via performance with a new Euro 5 engine update, which is significantly developed more than just that – not just better emissions but more performance, more responsive across most of the motorcycles," said Miles Perkins, Triumph's Head of Brand Management.
"Enhanced capability as well; we have many updates including high-specification equipment and more comfort across the bikes, and every one of them has enhancements to style, while still maintaining all of the essence of that iconic Bonneville family."
