Updated 2021 BMW R 1250 RT pricing revealed

The BMW R 1250 RT has been given a tech boost for 2021

The new 2021 BMW R 1250 RT has arrived in Australia, with the updated sports tourer offering considerably more tech and mild styling changes. BMW has revealed a starting price tag of $34,590 plus on-road costs.

Headlining the updates is the addition of Active Cruise Control (ACC) which utilises radar technology to maintain desired speed and a safe distance to the vehicle in front. There are only a handful of motorcycles currently equipped with this technology, including the new Ducati Multistrada V4 and KTM 1290 Super Adventure S.

There is also new audio system, as well as waterproof and ventilated smartphone storage with USB charging.

Elsewhere, the R 1250 RT gets Dynamic Traction Control and Full Integral ABS Pro as standard, as well as a new LED headlight with swivel function and a newly-developed front fairing. Local versions of the bike will also be fitted with Riding Modes Pro as standard.

Active Cruise Control is one of the standout new features on the R 1250 RT

The 2021 BMW R 1250 RT is powered by a 1245cc 2-cylinder boxer engine with ShiftCam, and also features adjustable BMW Paralever and Telelever suspension, cast aluminium wheels, heated grips, electronic windshield, luggage rack and much more.

In standard trim, the new R 1250 RT will check in at $34,590 (plus ORC), with the range-topping R 1250 RT Option 719 is priced at $39,390 (plus ORC). There is also an R 1250 RT Sport ($34,490 +ORC) and an R 1250 RT Elegance ($35,190 +ORC). And, as always, there are plenty of optional extras available.
