Indian Motorcycle has created a stunning limited-edition tribute to the #29 race bike Tyler O’Hara steered to victory in America’s 2022 King of the Baggers championship.
A collaboration between Indian Motorcycle and American V-twin performance specialist, S&S Cycle, just 29 examples of the new track-ready Indian Challenger RR will be produced, with only one of those bikes earmarked for Oceania.
Bagger racing has taken the US by storm in recent years, with the series breathing new life into the age-old rivalry between Indian Motorcycle and Harley-Davidson. And while the class might not enjoy full mainstream support here in Australia, the fortunate owner of the single Challenger RR heading Down Under will surely have an eye-catching machine to add to their collection or attack their favourite track.
The Indian Challenger RR comes with the following list of upgrades and improvements:
“Originally, the thought of road racing baggers was perplexing to many, and even downright offensive to some road racing purists,” says Gary Gray, Vice President – Racing, Technology and Service for Indian Motorcycle.
“But in just three short years, King of the Baggers has emerged as the hottest thing in motorcycle racing as these bikes have rapidly evolved in their sophistication, and we thought it would be awesome to give people the opportunity to own the bike that holds the crown.
“We’re excited to embrace the fandom of bagger racing and celebrate our second title with this highly exclusive, special run of Indian Challenger RR motorcycles. This bike is the real deal, much like when we released the venerable FTR750; the Challenger RR is a true race bike and is not street legal. Put in the right hands, it will reach the podium in MotoAmerica’s Mission King of the Baggers race series.”
Pricing has not been announced for the Indian Challenger RR but, as the saying goes, if you need to ask, you probably can’t afford it… See your nearest Indian Motorcycle dealership for more information.
