Yamaha has revealed an exclusive new sportsbike that uses World Superbike parts and is limited to just 25 units worldwide.
The 2023 Yamaha R1 GYTR Pro 25th Anniversary Edition has been developed by the same team of engineers responsible for the title-winning R1 WorldSBK machine and features an array of high-end GYTR PRO performance parts which are not usually available to customers.
Celebrating 25 years since the iconic R1 was introduced, the highly limited model will feature a lightweight carbon rear subframe, an Öhlins FGR front fork and TTX rear shock, an underslung swingarm, Brembo braking components, carbonfibre bodywork, a Magneti Marelli ECU, and a modified fuel tank.
Also included is the state-of-the-art GYTR PRO Electronic System (GPES) module which features up-to-date electronic software rider aids.
Each examples will be hand-built from the chassis up. The bikes will be assembled by experienced technicians in the 25 GYTR PRO shops across Europe.
In addition, each of the 25 owners will spend a day at a race circuit with a team of Yamaha technicians to help personalise and fine-tune their machine.
Yamaha Motor Australia confirmed to bikesales that the bike will not be available locally, with only European customers eligible to take up the offer.
The regular Yamaha YZF-R1 checks in at $29,349 ride away, while the up-spec YZF-R1M, which adds electronic Öhlins suspension, carbon bodywork and an array of other features, checks in at $38,599 ride away.
