The UK government has rejected calls for speed limiters on motorcycles. With refreshing honesty, the powers that be said speeding did not cause enough motorcycle crashes to justify the move.
This was in response to a House of Commons Transport Committee report which suggested research should be carried out to test the viability of governing bikes.
Instead, the government has said there are no plans for trials and should be focussing on more important factors. Speeding, it said, contributed to only four per cent of crashes. It did however add that using inappropriate speed for the conditions would not be solved by speed limiters.
