The consumer review and comparison website Canstar Blue has rated British marque Triumph the highest in a list eight motorcycle brands which includes BMW, Ducati and Harley-Davidson, as well as all four Japanese manufacturers.
Following a survey of 900 Australia motorcycle riders, where participants are asked to rate each brand according to reliability, style, handling, comfort, value for money, point of sale service, technology features and overall satisfaction, Triumph topped the site’s satisfaction ratings for the second consecutive year.
The British brand the maximum five-star rating across five of the eight surveyed categories, earning four stars for both value for money and point of sale service, while failing to register a score at all for technology features. According to Canstar, each criteria needs to record at least 30 responses before it registers a score.

Ducati finished this year’s survey in second position, earning five-star ratings for both handling and technology features, and four stars in each of the remaining six categories, placing ahead of Harley-Davidson in third overall. The American brand also received two-five star ratings (value for money and point of sale service) and six four-star ratings.
Yamaha topped the Japanese brands in fourth place, with just one five-star rating (value for money) and seven four-star ratings. Honda and Kawasaki, in fifth and seventh place respectively, both received three stars across all surveyed criteria, while Suzuki, which sits sixth in Canstar’s evaluation, managed four stars for value for money against an otherwise three-star sweep.
Perhaps surprisingly, BMW figured last in the survey, down in eighth place overall, also earning just three stars in each and every category.
