Triumph will be joining the likes of BMW and Ducati in releasing a one-litre plus Scrambler, with full details on the Scrambler 1200 to be made public on Wednesday, October 24.
Based on past Triumph marketing campaigns for all-new models and/or families, that means we’re going to be drip-fed information all the way to the release date – or “exclusive insights” in Triumph speak – and here’s the first video below:
There’s not a lot of information to be garnered from the 10-second teaser, with that aluminium bash plate stealing most of the limelight. There are also handguards, twin discs and beefy forks.
The engine will almost certainly be the High Torque version of the 270-degree parallel twin that made its debut in the updated Bonneville range a couple of years ago.
Triumph’s current 900cc Scrambler will continue in the British marque's model range alongside the new 1200 version.
Here’s what Triumph has to say about the Scrambler 1200: “It marks the birth of a stunning new motorcycle generation.
“With never-before-seen levels of dual-purpose capability, this incredible full-on scrambler is as truly amazing off-road as it is on the road, doing everything an adventure bike can, and all with authentic scrambler style and attitude.”
Meanwhile, stay tuned for a Bikesales review on the Ducati Scrambler 1100 launched in Milan last year, and here’s our write up on the BMW RnineT Scrambler.
