Triumph will join the Australian ProMX championship series in 2025, with a team headed up by Victorian rider Jack Simpson.
Simpson will pilot the all-new TF 450-RC in the MX1 class of Australia’s premier motocross championship, while Connar Adams and Thynan Kean will race in the MX2 class aboard the Triumph TF 250-X.
The three-rider team will not have full factory support – instead, it will be run by Victorian dealership Winner Motorcycles with key support from Triumph Australia and Peter Stevens Motorcycles.
Simpson hasn’t raced in the topflight of Australian motocross since 2015 when he made the switch to off-road racing. He won the Australian Off-Road Championship E1 class and has also been a top contender in desert racing both at home and in America.
He returns to Australia this year after five years racing off-road in America.
“I’m so excited to be back to my roots and racing in Australia,” said Simpson. “To come home this year and have the honour of racing the TF 450-RC is amazing.”
Triumph will launch the new TF 450-RC motocross bike in Australia in the coming weeks. Inspired by Triumph ambassador and motocross legend, Ricky Carmichael, the TF 450-RC is the first 450cc motocross bike from the British firm.
Triumph recently won its first race in the AMA Supercross 250 class at Glendale, Arizona, with Jordon Smith. The historic victory came just 13 races after the British firm debuted in the prestigious championship.
The opening round of the 2025 ProMX Championship is scheduled to be held at Wonthaggi on March 23.
