Triumph has announced local pricing for its new TF 450-RC motocross model.
The brand’s first 450cc motocrosser is set to arrive in the first quarter of 2025 with a price tag of $16,995 ride away. That places it in similar territory to the KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition, which checks in at $17,304 ride away.
Developed with help from motocross legend Ricky Carmichael, the TF 450-RC is being treated by Triumph as a special “First Edition”, which means it comes loaded with high-spec features that bump up the price tag compared to other bikes in the category. It is likely that a cheaper “standard” model will follow later next year.
The TF 450-RC joins the Triumph TF 250-X which was launched earlier this year. That bike is priced at $14,250 ride away and was praised by reviewers.
Triumph is also believed to be developing a range of enduro models, a rumour spurred on by the brand’s recent signing of hard enduro star Jonny Walker.
There is also a strong possibility that Triumph will release a range of electric minibikes, after the company acquired OSET in 2022.
The British firm’s off-road program was first announced in 2021, with Carmichael and enduro champion Ivan Cervantes signing on as development riders.
Triumph's impending entry into the 450cc motocross category sets up a possible rivalry with Ducati, which also has plans to release a production 450cc machine next year.
The arrival of Triumph and Ducati into the motocross segment means the possibility of 10 separate brands on the grid of major championships next year. They join KTM, Husqvarna, GASGAS, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Beta.
