Triumph has brought back the Triumph Street Triple Rx ‘Special Edition’, again borrowing inspiration from supersport sibling, the Daytona 675R. It's available now for $14,990, $1K more than the Street Triple R.
The Street Triple RX was first released in 2014, and the 2016 model has a new rear profile, revised graphics, and a choice of aluminium silver or jet black liveries.
The angular seat unit is transplanted from the Daytona, the front and rear lightweight race-inspired wheels are hand painted, and the seat cowl, belly pan and fly screen are from the Triumph catalogue.
At the heart of the Street Triple RX is Triumph’s signature triple engine. The 675cc 12-valve unit is derived from the Daytona 675 and delivers 106hp and 68Nm of torque. There' a close-ratio six-speed gearbox and quickshifter.
The chassis features an eight-piece, aluminium twin -spar frame and two-piece diecast rear subframe, mated to fully adjustable 41mm KYB inverted forks.
Standard equipment includes an engine immobiliser, while further security can be found via a Triumph D lock accessory that stows under the seat.
The LCD digital instrumentation includes a built-in lap timer, programmable gear shift lights, fuel gauge, clock and gear position indicator, as well as a large, clear tachometer and digital speedo. The clocks can also display front and rear tyre pressures when the optional tyre pressure monitoring system is fitted.
