Triumph has taken the interesting step of revealing its first 450cc motocross bike in the form of a special edition model.
Usually, a manufacturer will release a standard model and then follow it up with special edition versions, but Triumph has opted to reverse that order.
The all-new Triumph TF 450-RC Edition celebrates multi-time AMA champ Ricky Carmichael’s involvement in the Triumph motocross development program.
Set to arrive in the first quarter of 2025, the new machine features a unique livery inspired by Carmichael’s race career, including his iconic number 4, a GOAT (Greatest of All Time) logo, and sponsor logos such as Fox Racing.
The TF 450-RC follows the launch of the TF 250-X earlier this year. It features a single cylinder SOHC 450cc engine with Konig-forged aluminium pistons and DelWest titanium valves, as well as a five-speed gearbox and quickshifter.
Elsewhere, there is a Dellorto throttle body integrated with an Athena engine management system, which allows riders to tune features like traction control and launch control via the MX Tune smartphone app.
The bike has multiple engine maps, including a unique map developed with Carmichael’s own preferences.
Other features include Brembo brakes, an ODI RC4 signature handlebar, an X-Trig holeshot device, a gripper seat cover, a Triumph Racing Hinson clutch cover, an Akrapovic exhaust, Dunlop Geomax MX34 tyres, D.I.D Dirtstar rims, and and KYB AOS coil suspension.
Triumph is treating the TF 450-RC as a “first edition” model, meaning that a lower-spec base model is on the horizon.
The Triumph TF 450-RC Edition is set to arrive in Australia in the first quarter of 2025, with pricing still to be confirmed. Orders can be placed now with Triumph dealers.
