Touratech Australia has been quick to get on the front foot to reassure customers that it's "business as usual" locally despite the massive German accessory manufacturer for the adventure motorcycle market filing for insolvency last week.
The initial part of the insolvency process will be gain an overview of the economic situation of the company and to examine restructuring options.
According to the independently owned Touratech Australia, Touratech opened a brand new 20,000 square metre production and logistics centre in Germany in 2016 to cater for the growing adventure market, with the delay in the completion of the factory having a flow-on effect with production of parts.
Hence, the requirement to restructure the organisation. To look on the bright side, it's been a victim of its own success…
“We welcome and fully support Touratech Germany’s decision to restructure the company under German law, and look forward to an even brighter future,” Touratech Australia’s Robin Box said.
“Over the past two years we’ve seen a rapid growth in the adventure market, and that has required Touratech to ramp up their production of parts to cope with demand.
“However, we are happy to report supply has been improving, we absolutely support the restructure process, and be assured it’s business as usual for production in Germany, and for Touratech Australia.”
